Mind.org.uk

Mind.org.uk is a registered charity in
England (no. 219830) and a registered
company (no. 424348) in England and
Wales. They work to make sure nobody
has to face a mental health problem
alone. People need our support more
than ever, and demand for our services is
growing. I am working as a volunteer
with mind with their material helping to
raise awareness in schools and the
pharmacy.

Pennyappeal.org

Penny Appeal was set up in 2009 to provide poverty relief across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa by offering water solutions, organising mass feedings, supporting orphan care and providing emergency food and medical aid. Since then we have transformed lives and empowered communities around the world, helping to break the poverty cycle and build brighter futures. Our work and our teams have grown considerably in the past few years, allowing us to launch many new campaigns and work in even more crisis-hit countries. I have teamed up with penny appeal to raise awareness about mental health and as part many campaigns – half the money raised is to go back to campaigns such as women’s welfare, orphan children, education first for developing countries. This way the difficulty of facing mental issues in parts of the world where poverty can have a serious impact on the metal state of a human is slightly alleviated.

CPPE

the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) is part of the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry, within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at the University of Manchester. Our team of staff are committed to offering continuing professional development opportunities through high-quality services and learning materials. CPPE: provider of educational solutions for the NHS pharmacy workforce across England to maximise its contribution to improving patient care. As a pharmacist I have undergone training and used material from CPPE to promote a mental health campaign. CPPE has designed this campaign for pharmacy professionals to raise awareness of mental health conditions and how the whole pharmacy team can help support people living with mental health conditions as part of routine practice. CPPE has also helped in raising Fitrah Designs profile by promoting ‘The Gratitude Journal’ across their website and social media platforms.

St Martin’s High School

I have been working as a volunteer with the school to provide talks on gratitude and mental wellbeing. Each student who attended the talk got a free copy of ‘The Gratitude Journal’ and the idea was to target the younger generation who may be going through issues and provide a tool to assist them to break feel from having mental shackles.

HEADING TEXT
Shabbir has been working as a Pharmacist since 2012 and has a keen interest in mental health issues. As a pharmacist he advices the public about medicine and other health issues such as depression, addiction etc. From this Shabbir has undertaken to put some of his methods learnt in enjoyable books and journals to help tackle mental health issues. Having experienced the positive benefits of gratitude in his life, it seemed a natural fit to share this with others. Always on a path to help others first and foremost, Fitrah designs was formed, and we have been helping people ever since. After going through a few personal issues Shabbir has become extremely passionate about incorporating gratitude and other techniques into both his professional and his family life. Over the past year Shabbir has been working with charities such as Penny Appeal and Mind to raise awareness and help the masses tackle mental health issues. Along with this Shabbir has been delivering talks in schools as a volunteer, teaching children how gratitude and mindfulness can empower them and support them to flourish. Working as a pharmacist has allowed Shabbir to have a board understanding of patient behaviour believing that knowledge, mindfulness, gratitude and support systems are the back bones of good health, Shabbir is also a strong and passionate advocate for a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Shabbir is all about yoga, meditation. Shabbir’s future plans for 2018 onwards is to produce a collection of easy to read self-help books about mental health issues working together with companies and schools to impact his locality and community.
Anam J Uddin has more than eight years’ industry experience in graphic design and illustration. Based in London, her client work has included display visuals for the V&A’s Maharajah and Baroque exhibitions, advertising and marketing layout and design for Auction Technology Group and branding design for a London Women’s Institute branch, among others. She demonstrates quality and professionalism in any task she takes on, always trying to bring the idea to life, taking inspiration from around her to create new work and develop herself as an artist.

C&D Awards

Fitrah designs has entered the chemist and druggist awards ‘Online initiative of the year’. The criteria was whether you have, for example, launched a flashy new website, taken to Facebook to organise a health campaign, or used Twitter to promote your brand – the judges will want to see how your business and, most importantly, your customers have benefited. The aim of this award was to promote the works done by Fitrah design into the pharmacy world. Also to build bridges with other healthcare professionals and the general population about mental illness and linking together all the companies involved from schools to charities.
